Who I Am
The story of an Ithaca native who took the unconventional path — and never looked back.
I'm Noah Bell. A lifelong Ithaca native, entrepreneur, bridge player, and a firm believer that how you communicate is who you are. I took the unconventional path early and built something I'm proud of: a life made up of hard work, honest relationships, and a philosophy to live by.
I've been building since before I knew what it meant. A childhood arcade, a high school fudge business, and a long line of ventures since. The take away from all of it: a meaningful life doesn't require a conventional one.
Right now, I'm coaching and teaching bridge, co-hosting short-term Airbnb rentals in the Finger Lakes, doing membership retention work for the ACBL, and serving as Treasurer on the board of Free Science Workshop, a nonprofit in Ithaca focused on bringing science to underserved communities.
Everything I do connects. The curiosity I bring to a bridge hand, I bring to every conversation. The warmth I feel for Hello, Dolly! I try to bring to everyone I work with. It's just how I operate.

A memoir built on the same conviction that runs through everything else I make: you are always in motion, and that motion is the point.
A memoir tracing how the lessons I've lived, from the card table to the stage, all point back to the same truth: you are always in motion, and that motion is the point. Structured around the characters of the musical, the book is a 26-chapter journey through identity, loss, reinvention, and joy.

— Noah BellDolly Levi is, to me, the most inherently human character in American musical theatre. She's not an idea, she's vulnerable, and the show never lets her hide it. Over the course of the story she grieves, she loses, she finds herself, she finds love again, and somehow, she does all of it while helping everyone around her find their own way too.
What gets me every time is the moment she realizes she was always in motion, like a train, but the train had made a stop for far too long. And then she gets back on track. Not because the grief is gone, but because she's ready, and the best time to start is now. Dolly knows how to keep finding herself, understanding herself, and loving herself through whatever comes next. And getting back on the train guides her.
That's the reason I keep coming back to this show. Not the parade, not the polka, not even the title number — though I love those too. It's watching someone fully human do the hardest thing there is: get back on the tracks, because you are the train that never stops.
Strategy & Community
A lifelong card player's case for why bridge is the best game ever invented — and a model for how people should treat each other.
I've been a card player my whole life. My grandfather Poppi taught me the game — and with it, the patience and partnership that bridge demands. I've never stopped playing, and I've never stopped thinking about what the game actually teaches. Bridge isn't just a card game. It's a system for understanding how two people can think together, communicate under pressure, and build trust one hand at a time. I've carried all of that into everything else I do.

Contract work in membership retention strategy, developing curiosity-led outreach across units and districts — built on tiered prioritization and direct relationship-building with guest members.
I coach and teach bridge across generations of players — from young people just learning the game to lifelong players sharpening their skills. Passing the game on is part of the point.
The game teaches partnership. Every bid is communication. Every contract is a promise. I write and teach from that frame — bridge as a model for how people should treat each other.

Nonprofit & Education
My work as Treasurer on the board of Free Science Workshop, a nonprofit bringing hands-on science education to underserved communities.
Free Science Workshop exists on a simple idea: curiosity shouldn't depend on a zip code. The organization runs hands-on science programming for underserved communities in Ithaca. I serve on the board as Treasurer — keeping the finances in order and helping the org grow in a way that lasts.
I review the annual operating budget, catching errors and asking questions as the organization plans for sustainable growth.
I led the search for FSW's Executive Director end-to-end — posting the role, organizing applicants, conducting interviews, and guiding the final decision.
I help with outreach, connecting hands-on science programming with the kids and families in Ithaca who benefit from it most.
Curiosity is universal. It's access that shouldn't be.
Hospitality & Short-Term Rentals
I co-host short-term rentals in the Finger Lakes — the region I grew up in and still love. Hospitality done right is just another form of good communication.
I co-host short-term rentals across the Finger Lakes. Every detail of a guest's stay — from the first message to the last review — is a form of communication. I bring the same care here that I bring to everything else I do.
From launching dedicated booking channels to managing direct reservations, every part of the guest experience is hands-on and personal.
I co-host properties in partnership with owners, handling guest communication, logistics, and the day-to-day work of keeping a short-term rental running smoothly.
